Altus Pharmaceuticals Now Enrolling Patients in Phase III DIGEST Trials
Altus Pharmaceuticals Inc., of Cambridge, MA, is now enrolling patients in its Phase III DIGEST trials for Trizytek™ (porcine-free enzyme). Trizytek, formerly known as ALTU-135, is an investigational pancreatic enzyme therapy designed to improve fat, protein and carbohydrate absorption in people with cystic fibrosis (CF). The first portion of the DIGEST trials will test the effectiveness of a one-capsule-per-meal dosing regimen. Altus expects to recruit approximately 300 patients from more than 50 sites worldwide, making this the largest Phase III program ever conducted to evaluate pancreatic enzyme therapy in people with CF. Data from Phase I and Phase II trials demonstrated that Trizytek was well tolerated and supported further testing of this compound in Phase III trials.
If you are interested in finding out more about participating in this trial, please contact your CF doctor, CF Care Center or continue to check www.altus.com/digesttrials.cfm for the most up-to-date information on participating care centers.
