We invite all CF associations to organise awareness activities in the CF week from 15 to 21 November
From 15 to 21 November 2010, CF Europe and patient associations in 38 European countries organize the 2d European CF Awareness Week, to fight for better and longer lives for all people living with CF
The CF week wants to make people aware of CF and make good care available to every CF patient. Join our actions for a longer and better life for all CF patients in Europe now!
- CF meeting in the European Parliament, Brussels, 10 November
Focus of this CF awareness campaign is once more on access to care. Since the very successful campaign and meeting in the European parliament last year we made some important steps forward...
Dr Liese, one of the leading members of the European Parliament in the field of healthcare, organizes together with CFE a public meeting in the EU parliament on 10 November 2010 to discuss how the gap in health care and survival between the different European regions can be diminished, with decision makers within the EU and the Commission, CF experts and patient representatives.
Everyone is welcome at this meeting but you have to register in time!
We hope some of you will be able to come and support our call for EU initiatives for better access to care!
If you wish to attend you have to mail the following data before November 1Â to marijke@muco.be!
Name |
First name |
Birth date |
Passport Number |
Address |
invite and encourage EU-representatives from your country to attend this meeting!
Contact all the Members of the EU Parliament who represent your country or any person you know who is working for the EU or Commission (especially in the field of health and research).
We ask you to send the enclosed invitation (“Invitation CF event†and “Closing the survival gap in CFâ€) as soon as possible to your MEPs!
You find a list of email addresses for all countries attached (the addresses are from last year but we assume not too much has changed there).
- PLEASE FORWARD OUR LETTER AND INVITATION (contact marijke@muco.be)!
- It would be best to write a personal mail message in your own language to indicate the importance of this meeting for your association and families and attach the English letter and invitation.
- National awareness, information, lobbying and fundraising activities
We urge you all to “use†this week to get more attention for your awareness, information, lobbying and fundraising activities.
We have no European wide promo materials such as bracelets this year (it’s too expensive to do this each year) but you can use the enclosed poster to inspire any public or political campaign your association undertakes in November. Upon request we can send you all these files in word, so you can translate it or adopt it according to your needs and national situation.
I know some of you organize activities a bit later or earlier, the date in itself is not so important... Essential is that you do something around to get more support for CF!
- The CF week website www.cfweek.eu is active again: visit and participate in it!
We invested a lot of (Belgian CF) time and money in this site, because we think it can be a very interesting instrument for our European CF community during our awareness campaigns.
So we hope you will have a look at the site and most of all: post your info here!Â
- Announce all your activities in the Agenda
- Report on your activities
- Check if the contact details for your country are correct
- Download campaign material
- Get ideas for your actions
- Post your press articles and radio and TV-reports
