7th Polish Social Campaign

7th POLISH CYSTIC FIBROSIS WEEK
(25.02-02.03.2008)

This is already 7th edition of Polish Social campaign, which aim is to build awareness of Cystic fibrosis. The theme of the action in this year is "Asthma? Allergy? Cystic fibrosis - correct diagnosis - better life". Early diagnosis allows to introduce appropriate treatment and physiotherapy and ensures better and longer life. That\"e;s why it is so important to inform people, including medical doctors about this complicated disease and its consequences.

For the first time the campaign is organizes with support EU fundings and this is the first social campaign about Cystic Fibrosis in Poland organized in support with EU.

Tens of billboard are placed in the biggest cities in Poland. Thousands of posters are exposed in many cites and villages, at hospitals, at praxis, medical universities, university campus, schools, kindergartens, schools for young parents. Many thousands of flyers will be distributed there, as well as in the shops visited by young parents. One of the essential element of the campaign is the possibility of performing a medical diagnosis by medical experts on 20 sites ( by telephone). People who are interested in getting information about CF and life of CF suffers can call a special number or ask their questions via e-mail and they will be provided with relevant information. Radio advertisement and auditions are broadcasted on a few radio station, as well as TV advertisements and auditions on TV stations. The website of Foundation (www.mukowiscydoza.pl) is widely promoted in Internet. During the campaign numerous articles describing cystic fibrosis disorder and individual cases of CF suffers are published. At the beginning of the campaign the press conference focusing on cystic fibrosis subject organised at which journalists can address their questions to medical experts, CF suffers and their families.

Other campaign actions include:

- 2 week photo exhibition in one of the biggest shopping mall in Cracow, presenting the work of CF suffers.
- Small workshops with medical experts
- Edition of occasional postcards
- Occasional stamp
- Occasional medals ( made by National Mint)
- Awareness public opinion poll ( made by Millward Brown SMG/KRC)
- Many other actions organized by volunteers in numerous cities.

The campaign is patronaged by Ministry of Health and it is organised by Foundation for Help Families and Suffers for Cystic Fibrosis MATIO ( Polish CF Associaction MATIO) .
