As part of the Building Bridges Campaign, CFW has begun working
with volunteers to host events that raise funds to build CF care
in developing countries and bridge the gap between those who suffer.
People born with CF in developed countries are now living beyond
40 and enjoying full and productive lives. Sadly, people born
with CF in many parts of the world are still dying in infancy
lost in child death statistics with little done to improve their
lives or the lives of those to come.
The Building Bridges Campaign is a multi-national campaign
to raise funds to support projects that directly improve the
lives of people who have CF and those who will be born in the
future in under developed nations.
Events are a great way to raise funds to help support CFW and give
us the ability to provide educational grants, needed diagnostic
and laboratory equipment, supply patients with necessary treatment
facilities, equipment and medication to improve and extend their
lives.
Events can
be something as small as a local car wash, Burke
Bear sale or as large as a celebrity
golf tournament, Art
Auction or bike tour. To help plan an event CFW offers tools
and ideas to help get you started.

Harvest Festival Sells Burke To Raise Money for Cystic
Fibrosis Worldwide
A successful Burke Bear sale was held at the Sturbridge, Massachusetts
Harvest Festival on October 22nd and 23rd. Although the weather
was cold, windy and wet, hardy New Englanders came out to vote
for the most unique scarecrows, sample homemade baked goods,
admire the work of local artisans, go on hay rides, paint pumpkins,
and enjoy live music.
These wonderful, caring people also helped us raise funds for
Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide buy purchasing 25 limited edition
Boyds Bears. How could anyone resist our adorable Burke P. Bear?

The Festival Sale would hardly have been a success without our
small group of dedicated, volunteers. Many thanks go out to
Tia, Justin, Nathan, Elsie, Jeff, Paul, Krystin, and Maria (our
four year old star salesperson), for putting forth such great
efforts to make the event happen. Thanks as well to Michael
Glick and all the caring people at the Publick House Historic
Inn, who put on the event and generously supplied the organization
with a table and covering at no charge for both days.
