European Cystic Fibrosis Nutrition Group (ECFNG)

The main aim of the ECFNG is to promote communication and networking between dietitians and other healthcare professionals working with patients with CF.

The majority of the members of ECFNG are dietitians. However, membership is open to all healthcare professionals interested in the nutritional care of patients with CF, for example nutritionists, nurses and doctors. At the last review there were 119 members, representing 15 countries. The ECFNG Website is linked to: www.creoninfo.co.uk, details of the committee and how to join the group can be found on this website.

The main activity of the group is to organise an education and business meeting at European CF Conferences. This study day includes an annual general meeting, educational lectures and workshops/roundtables. The ECFNG also has a place on the scientific planning committee of all European conferences. This involves planning the nutrition, gastroenterology and liver programme for the main scientific part of the conference. Members of ECFNG have also been involved in writing the European Consensus documents on Nutrition, Standards of care and Pregnancy. Sue Wolfe is the dietetic advisor to Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide.
