CFW UPDATE

Supporting Our Mission
Christine Noke, Project Manager

Christine Noke

With the success of the CF Center in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, CFW is ready to shift some of its focus and resources to funding projects in other developing countries. To accomplish this goal, CFW is continuously searching for fundraising opportunities. Luckily, generous people have offered to donate their time and skills for the benefit of CFW.

Going the Distance for CF

Nicolas Basile
Nicolas Basile

Nicolas Basile, 20 year old engineering student in France, has big plans for this summer. From 7 May to 6 September, armed with his bike and legs, Nicolas will ride his bike from Melbourne to Brisbane, Australia raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide. Concerned about childhood illnesses, Nicolas chose to help fund CFW projects worldwide for what he calls "his personal project unlinked to the engineering field." This project will enable him to fulfill a personal goal.

"I have always felt concerned about infantile illnesses," Nicolas stated. "I decided to collect money for CFW because (they) bring appropriate care to persons living in poor countries."

Nicolas, who labels himself as a "perfect example of a basic student," participates in an amateur theatre associate and plays rugby. To help fund his bike trip through Australia, Nicolas plans to organize an inter-university rugby tournament and a theatre performance.
Nicolas estimates that his journey will cost nearly 4,000 euros. While Nicolas is actively seeking sponsorship to fund his trip, he plans to ask friends, family and activity participants to pledge money per kilometer in an effort to collect funds for CFW. For more information, to help sponsor Nicolas or to make a pledge please visit: http://www.cfww.org/events/EVENTS_sports_nbacile.asp.

ART AUCTION

Natalie Saiph
Natalie Saiph

Natalie Saiph, an Italian artist, donated some of her artwork to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide. The unframed artwork by Natalie and other artists displayed at: http://www.cfww.org/AUCTIONS/gallery.asp is priced from $100 to $600 U.S. dollars. Each painting's purchase price includes worldwide shipping costs. The additional international artists who also donated their artwork include Hafeez Ahmed, Y Zahoor and Shasia Yousut.
Natalie, who works in the field of Animation and Publishing, started the ArteSaiph Studio located in Liguria, Italy. Natalie would like to get in touch with Broadcasts, Animation Companies and Publishers for new collaborations. ArteSaiph Studio specializes in pre-production services for animation including design work (props, characters, and backgrounds), storyboarding, color design, and layouts for film, feature animation and television productions. The Studio work is also direct for the Publishing market of Comic Books and Illustrated Children’s Books.
Natalie plans to exhibit her art work at galleries in the US, The Netherlands and Italy with a percentage of the profits benefiting CFW projects. Presently, she is planning her first exhibit at the BERIO Library Gallery in Italy.
In addition, Natalie will prepare one full exhibit of paintings of children with the adorable stuffed animal Burke P. Bear who also helps raise funds for CFW. This special artwork can be viewed at: http://www.cfww.org/campaigns/BURKE_index.asp.
The CFW online “Building Bridges Charitable Art Gallery” will raise funds to help bridge the gap between life expectancy and quality of life for CF patients globally. Please visit the CFW website and this newly developed online gallery at http://www.cfww.org/AUCTIONS/gallery.asp.

EASY EBAY AUCTION

CFW has partnered with Mission Fish to raise funds using a unique online auction process that turns in-kind donations into cash. Items donated to CFW will become cash for projects in developing countries. Send us a picture and description of the item so that it can be auctioned at eBay—the most popular and secure Internet shopping destination. For more information, contact Christine: cnoke@fww.org or call 1-508-733-6120. To bid on CFW auctions now in progress visit www.cfww.org .
CFW is grateful for the support shown by the individuals, the organizations and the corporations that help fund CFW projects. Without their generosity, CFW would not be able to achieve its goal of providing access to appropriate care and education to those people living with the disease in developing countries and to improve the knowledge of CF among medical professionals and governments worldwide.
Donations to CFW are used to fund projects that directly affect people with CF as well as fund the operation of the CFW website, newsletter and lay conferences worldwide.
CFW is interested in all types of fundraising ventures with companies, associations and individuals because together we can make a difference. Please contact Christine at cnoke@fww.org to find out how you can get involved with supporting our mission.
