FROM THE EDITOR'S DESK
Sam Hillyard
Sam Hillyard, Editor

Hello everyone and welcome to our joint Newsletter (NL) with the ICF(M)A, before we officially merge and will be known as CF Worldwide (CFW).

All in all this issue of the NL is very daunting for me, as not only are we now (finally) embarking on this merger, but also I am here for the first time in my 'official' capacity as Editor.

I have enjoyed assisting Barbara for many years, but over the past 2 years our roles have shifted, with me eventually stepping into her shoes. I do hope that I will live up to the fabulous reputation that she has created as the Newsletter Editor.

Do not worry though Barbara will not disappear from the scene completely....she wouldn't dare!

As always, this issue is jam-packed with research information, medical news and personal experiences. Topics covered this time round include Quality of Life, Gene Therapy, Transplant Referral and an update on the merger into CFW. We also cover the issue of treating depression: an often sensitive, but very worthy topic.

You may have noticed changes in the format of the NL over the past few issues. I hope you have found them to be changes for the better. Not only are we trying to fit as much information into each issue as possible, but we have also been working with a new publisher/designer who has made a tremendous difference to us.

We welcome any feedback on our ongoing modifications, or suggestions on how to improve our Newsletter even more. Please write with your comments, articles and letters to me by email: editor@cfww.org or post to my mailing address
