Christine Noke, Project Manager
With the success of the CF Center in the former Soviet Republic of
Georgia, CFW is ready to shift some of its focus and resources to funding
projects in other developing countries. To accomplish this goal, CFW
is continuously searching for fundraising opportunities. Luckily, generous
people have offered to donate their time and skills for the benefit
of CFW.

Going the Distance for CF
 |
Nicolas Basile |
Nicolas Basile, 20 year old engineering student in France,
has big plans for this summer. From 7 May to 6 September, armed with
his bike and legs, Nicolas will ride his bike from Melbourne to Brisbane,
Australia raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide. Concerned about
childhood illnesses, Nicolas chose to help fund CFW projects worldwide
for what he calls "his personal project unlinked to the engineering
field." This project will enable him to fulfill a personal goal.
"I have always felt concerned about infantile illnesses,"
Nicolas stated. "I decided to collect money for CFW because (they)
bring appropriate care to persons living in poor countries."
Nicolas, who labels himself as a "perfect example of a basic student,"
participates in an amateur theatre associate and plays rugby. To help
fund his bike trip through Australia, Nicolas plans to organize an inter-university
rugby tournament and a theatre performance.
Nicolas estimates that his journey will cost nearly 4,000 euros. While
Nicolas is actively seeking sponsorship to fund his trip, he plans to
ask friends, family and activity participants to pledge money per kilometer
in an effort to collect funds for CFW. For more information, to help
sponsor Nicolas or to make a pledge please visit: http://www.cfww.org/events/.

CFW is grateful for the support shown by the individuals, the organizations
and the corporations that help fund CFW projects. Without their generosity,
CFW would not be able to achieve its goal of providing access to appropriate
care and education to those people living with the disease in developing
countries and to improve the knowledge of CF among medical professionals
and governments worldwide.
Donations to CFW are used to fund projects that directly affect people
with CF as well as fund the operation of the CFW website, newsletter
and lay conferences worldwide.
CFW is interested in all types of fundraising ventures with companies,
associations and individuals because together we can make a difference.
