Innovative new website features educational and community content for CF patients

EMERYVILLE, Calif.- Chiron Corporation (Nasdaq: CHIR) announced the launch of cForward.net, an online resource for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients and their caregivers. The new site, found at www.cForward.net, offers interactive educational content, community-based programming and access to important information specific to CF patients and their needs.

“CForward.net is a unique resource Chiron is proud to provide to the CF community,” said Craig Wheeler, president, Chiron BioPharmaceuticals. “Our commitment to protecting the health of CF patients extends beyond the products we make. Education about CF and compliance with an appropriate treatment regimen are important parts of managing the disease, particularly in young patients, and cForward.net addresses those issues in a way that’s both informative and entertaining.”

The goal of cForward.net is to simultaneously support education and advocacy initiatives that increase awareness of CF while increasing adherence to treatments. The site features age-appropriate information for children, teenagers and adults living with CF. Content includes educational games, video clips, and moderated chats and webcasts, as well as resources for CF patients such as the Reimbursement Specialist, the Clinicians Corner and scholarship information. Registered members of the cFoward.net online community also receive free or reduced-cost access to CF-related events.
