Natalie Massone Saiph

Natalie Saiph Massone was born in Genoa in 1976. After graduating in 1999 from the Academy of Fine Arts of Genoa. Natalie earned a Master in Illustration degree from Walt Disney Company in Milan. In addition to her collaborating efforts with Italian and foreign art galleries, she has indeed specialized in pre-production services for animation, including design work, backgrounds, storyboarding and colour design, as well as in layouts for the Animation and the Publishing of both Comic Books and Illustrated Children's Books. I n 2000, she wins the 1st Painting Prize reserved to Disney artists, at the end of a professional training at the Walt Disney Company Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles, in the United States. The same year, she is selected to take part at the "ClipStrip Festival 2000" with a series of painted storyboard inspired to Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow". In 2004, she covered the position of Visual Development Supervisor for the 3d short "Lisa", designing all the environments, characters, high lights scenes storyboards. At present, she is developing new projects both for the publishing and animation market, among which "The Mistery of Ajchal" (Annecy Festival 2004) and "Calumet", realizing the pre-production artworks, from first concepts to final model sheets. The town of Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy recently honoured her as the Emergent Painter for 2005. She is effective member of the Italian Association of Illustrators "Associazione Illustratori" and "Allied Artists" for Uk. At present, she exhibits and collaborates with the "Wilma Coppa" in Rapallo and the "Fondazione d'Ars " in Milan, and she has donated paintings, created artworks and organized events to benefit Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide - She contributes with articles on the art events taking place in Italy for the American art review "NYArtsMagazine", other than always seeking for new collaborations with galleries, producers and publishers. At present, she lives and works in S. Michele di Pagana, Rapallo (GE).

Nov. 2000: “CLIPSTRIP FESTIVAL 2000” , Ferrara: national display on Feature Animation and Author Comic Books: I have been selected with other ten artists in the national Contest on Comic Book: Theme on Cinema, my work was a painted storyboard inspired by Tim Burton’s movie on “Sleepy Hollow”. The paintings were realized in different mixed media; included in the Festival Catalogue.
